As an agricultural assistant (AA), you will carry out responsible and exciting tasks with a high degree of independence. These include planning and supervising trials in laboratories, greenhouses and on open land, as well as documenting trial progress and results and evaluating accumulated data. You will also assist in the cultivation and care of plant materials and oversee seasonal workers and harvesters. You will also carry out quality analyses of breeding materials.
P. H. PETERSEN carries out this training in cooperation with the vocational schools in Lüneburg as a three-part training course that takes place over a period of two years.
Requirements:
- extended secondary school qualification or high school certificate
- good marks in science are a plus
- independent, analytical, organised, a team-player and willing to work outside
Course:
- Part 1: Half the school year at a vocational school in Lüneburg
- Part 2: One year practical training in seed cultivation
- Part 3: Second half of the school year in Lüneburg.

Accommodation: Students can use comfortably furnished lodgings on the company site.
Activities in the company: The work at Lundsgaard is as diverse and varied as the varieties we cultivate:
- Main focus: Nematode-resistant catch crops such as oil radish and mustard. Checking resistance to different soil nematodes with special greenhouse tests.
- Cultivating other catch crops such as phacelia, ryegrass and clover
- Testing cultivars in field trials
- Cultivation programme for population-rye, triticale and legumes including variety checks and pre-propagation.
